Thomas Watson is one of the most famous Puritan preachers in history, and his writings during the 17th century are still read across the world today. He was a prodigious writer whose works include All Things for Good (originally published as A Divine Cordial), The Ten Commandments, and more. The Godly Man's Picture is Watson's exposition on Puritan theology, and his description of what it takes for someone to be "godly" enough to go to Heaven. He wrote that the purpose of the work was "that all into whose hands this book may providentially come, may be so enamoured with piety as to embrace it heartily."
