Tedious, stilted, dated. Oh, and an unseemly Lolita plot.
Unfortunately this novel didn't really do it for me. There are some beautiful descriptions (despite the time setting of the novel - being post-ww2) and the undercurrents of feelings are absolutely amazing however I get really confused sometimes with the conversations, I don't know if it's me but so...
