So in an attempt to break my reading funk I stumbled across this series on Audible as one of it's popular gifting audioboks. The description sounded really interesting and different and I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try.First of all this is not like your typical fantasy/magic series. It ...
Interested in reading the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne? This is a good place to start. 5-stars. http://www.fromtheshadows.info/2015/01/book-review-grimoire-of-lamb-by-kevin-hearne.html Grimoire of the Lamb takes place before Hounded, the first full length novel in the Iron Druid Chronic...
A quick, short but self-contained novella that takes place before the events of Hunted. O'Sullivan and Oberon are after an ancient Egyptian "cookbook" stolen out from under, literally, O'Sullivan's nose. Events are fast paced and the story is excellent; my only complaint is the graphic consequence...
Rating: 3.6* of fiveThe Publisher Says: There's nothing like an impromptu holiday to explore the birthplace of modern civilization, but when Atticus and Oberon pursue a book-stealing Egyptian wizard - with a penchant for lamb - to the land of the pharaohs, they find themselves in hot, crocodile-infe...
Atticus heads to Egypt with Oberon for an adventure filled with ancient gods and mysteries. I love his interaction with the tales of long ago. His interaction with one catty god is purrfect.
Writing: 3Story/Plot: 3Depth/Detail: 2Enjoyment: 3Another quick novella in the Iron Druid universe. I enjoy episodic novellas - quick, dirty, and nice little adventures are fun and enjoyable. I REALLY enjoy Peter V. Brett's episodic novellas from Arlen's travels as a messenger, for example. But as w...
While this was a nice novella, this isn't one of my favorites. I find I like Atticus when he has other characters to bounce off of. Oberon is great as usual, but for a large part of the story, he wasn't there. I can totally see him in a top hat with a candy cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
Quick and easy blood sacrifice, ya'll. Come one, come all, get your very own blood sacrifice here!Other than the fact that I'm starting to really get into the character of the Iron Druid, I have to ask one little question: Why is it that everyone assumes that the Egyptian Gods are such bloodthirsty ...
3.5/5.0I enjoyed this novella. The Iron Druid Chronicles is one of my favorite series. I like that Atticus is a flawed character; he is not perfect, makes mistakes and I do not always agree with his decisions. I still love the whole sexy protector of the earth thing he has going on and Oberon is ...
