A typical children's early reader, much like dick and jane, but with a twist. Balloons pop, pets get eaten by crocodiles, birthdays are disappointing, and the whole family hides when relatives pop in. I'm not sure an actual child would find this funny, but who cares !
This is a sarcastic book in the style of Dick and Jane. The illustrations are lushly retro, and the story is quite clever.
