This adventure was very historical, which could have been interesting, except that Bayport isn't even a real town. Also, the lack of a gang or real villain made it a bit cheesy.

I think the Hardy Boy books helped me with learning deductive and inductive skills. I had to work through logic. Who knew? I enjoyed all these books.
