This is the book that started me reading, when my third grade teacher let me read it instead of a textbook called The Mustard Seed. I love this book.
I wanted to read this before I saw the movie, actually got to it a few days late. Enjoyed it more than I did the Rings trilogy.
I think I found a good stopping point for where I want to be before I see the movie, since the book is going to be broken into three movies. *cross fingers* More to this review later when I finish the rest of the book. 3 stars is only a standard unfinished rating for shelving purposes.
