by L.J. Smith
It is really hard to review something I have read half a dozen times, but am re-reading for the first time in a decade. I really love the creepy nightmare house game set-up. It made it easier to get to know several of the characters, and I just liked watching them overcome their worst nightmares....
I could have liked this when I was younger. It is so "90's" and it also has that dark atmosphere. The idea was really good; the execution, poor. Their nightmares seemed to have been taken out of a old horror TV show (but from the MEH ones). Monsters, big bugs, lots of mirrors, etc. And the heroine J...
I honestly love everything by L.J. Smith. I'm guessing this trilogy came before some of the others but still great. I like her world building in that it feels like you are really learning about it as the character does.
I think it would be an understatement to say that I am impressed by L.J. Smith. Smith's name is one that is familiar to nearly everyone, if not for anything else then for her widely popular Vampire Diaries Series. I was more than a little nervous going into The Forbidden Game though, merely bec...
Rating: 3.5 stars, though not quite 4 starsI will be reviewing the entire trilogy at once here.
Smith has created her most romantic, beautiful, breath taking, yet evil character yet. Jullian is someone that can touch your heart while freezing it cold at the same time. Who could resist the thought of a beautiful angelic/demonic creature with bright blue eyes and silver hair? 'The Hunter' is an ...
This is becoming a trend. The book is better than the three stars I gave it, but it just didn't affect me enough for that fourth star. Maybe I'm too old for it. I should have read this when I was a teen, instead of now that I'm... uh, never mind. There's a good story in there, you should read it.
Julian is one of the sexiest characters in the whole of literature, seriously. Even if the story hadn't been a wonderful and gripping adventure with an array of colourful and interesting characters, it would still have been worth the read for Julian. But that aside, the book was wonderful, as soon a...
L.J. Smith is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I discovered her in sixth grade and have never really given her up. I didn't stumble upon this trilogy until three years ago or so, when I was living at home, marginally employed, and mildly depressed - so, hey, just about as miserable as I was in sixth ...
