Maybe 4 1/2 stars? Frequently hilarious, could be tightened up a bit, particularly in the Holy Land section.
I gave up on the audiobook about 3/4 in. The narrator's voice has an annoying combination of atonal hoarseness and nasalness that never stopped bothering me. Mark Twain is one of my favorite authors, and this is one of my favorite Twain books. I love his sarcastic humor as much as I love his view into the lives of another time.
