Ok, now I am officially addicted to Daniel Silva books. Gabriel Allon is a character that possesses many interesting possibilites in the future. Really enjoyed this one.

I think what may have killed this book for me was I read this just after reading John Le Carre's The Spy Who Came in from the Cold--and after having recently read Alan Furst and Eric Ambler while working through a recommendation list that included Silva among this number. An intense spy thriller, The Kill Artist gives the reader a complete backstory on our main character, Allon, without dragging down the pace or excitement.Really enjoyed the characters and the frantic finale, all the way through to the brilliant twisted ending!

I would like to give Silva another try. I began reading one of his first novels several years ago but stopped because I thought his style cumbersome. Any number of people have told me that he's a great writer so I'm going to give him another go as soon as I get the chance.

...espionage from Lake Wobegon, where all the women are stunning, all the men are ruthless, and all the children know spycraft.I can't lie, though. I'm popping these puppies like cheesy-poofs.

Typical espionage/thriller novel. Interesting slant given the Israeli - Palestinian component. The book moves fairly fast and kept my attention which is what I would expect from books of this genre.
