Again, it's been a while since I read this one, so I won't have much to say about it. I'm working on catching up, I promise! I almost backed out of reading this one even after I had picked it up from the library. The description makes it sound like there's a lot of witchcraft in the book and that ...

I suspect this one is the least historically accurate book on the series so far. Jacquetta seems to be a very mysterious character, mostly absent from historical record.Maybe because of that, the story flows beautifully. Since there aren't that many facts to stick to, the book is free to create dram...

I think [a:Philippa Gregory|9987|Philippa Gregory|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1351685194p2/9987.jpg] does her best work when she stays away from the royals themselves and makes her protagonists less well-known characters--basically, because she's allowed to make more stuff up. In so...

The third book of The Cousins' War series by Philippa Gregory; The Lady of the Rivers. In this book we get a view of Jacquetta of Luxembourg, the known descendent of the river goddess, Melusina, and her life before her daughter Elizabeth became queen of England. I expected the book to start out from...

The events in The Lady of the Rivers, the third book in the Cousins' War series, come chronologically first than both the first two books in the series. The Lady of the Rivers is focused on Jacquetta, Elizabeth Woodville's mother.A heir to the dukes of Luxembourg and a descendant of the river goddes...

The Lady of the Rivers is the third installment in Philippa Gregory’s “Cousins War” series. The protagonist, Jacquetta of Luxembourg, will be familiar to readers of this series as we encounter Jacquetta in The White Queen, the first installment of the series, which follows the life of Jacquetta’s o...
