“The Last Lie” is set in the next century, but society is much like it is today - with one small difference: thanks to a disaster known as the Pino Virus, trying to make things up can kill you. Imagine a world where you can’t create an excuse for taking a day off work, or tell your kids that you like the art project they made. Imagine a world where you can’t imagine. This is Amina’s world. Living a day-to-day existence without the ability to dream is hard enough, but Amina is compelled to create something to make the world a better place, putting her life at risk to do so. As she struggles, she discovers Xander, a mysterious stranger who might hold the key to fulfilling that dream. Together, they uncover a part of their world that she (literally) never could have imagined, filled with conspiracy and intrigue. Your first love is complicated enough, but for Amina and Xander, keeping secrets is a matter of life and death. How true can love be if you can’t lie?
