Very short, simple, and logical assertion of what "law" is and what "law" is for. Questions of the desirability of unlimited liberty aside, as the essay progresses I think it suffers from an uneven tone and it strays from its simplicity, expanding into lecture on Sparta, Paraguay, and other topics. ...
This should be required reading. In my opinion one of the most important essays ever written.
