Jalan has to face up to the fact that he has magic within him and that there's a quest with his name on it.Not bad but I didn't really engage with the characters and the plot. Readable but not compelling.

So... I haven't read the first, and I didn't request this one, but HAVE been eyeing off a set of the first two at work... I wonder if I need to read that other 600 page book before I read THIS 600 page book...
