This is a cute kids’s tale. Percy is 12 and apparently gets kicked out of schools often. His mom currently has them living with a dead beat, verbally abusive man that has a body odor problem. Life is just tough on Percy. But it’s about to get a lot tougher when Greek deities and monsters pop up in h...

This book introduces mythology in a fun, modern way through the main character Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. Percy goes on an adventure with his friends Annabeth and Grover to try to find Zeus' stolen lightning bolt. Throughout their journey, the friends encounter many figures from Greek mythology...

Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can't seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. And lately, being away at boarding school is only getting worse—Percy could have sworn his pre-algebra teacher turned into a monster and tried to kill him. I liked this one enough, but it's not one that i want to buy and read again and again. One thing i thought was odd was that Rick usually used the Greek names for the gods/demigods/etc. but the name Hercules was used at least 4 times throughout the book. Hercules is the Roman equivalent of Heracles...

This has a great mix of mythology and present day. I really enjoyed characters, especially Percy, and will be continuing this series! While this book isn't meant for my age-range, I definitely see the appeal for younger readers.

I'm done! Tbh, I'm not amazed. Don't get me wrong, it was very enjoyable! But it wasn't mindblowing or anything. I love Greek mythology! It's very hard to strike that balance between adding your own twists and staying true to the original, but Riordan somehow managed. At least in my eyes. And I re...
