That was such a cute comforting read. At first, I was a bit "meh", but it grew on me as I read. There is nothing groundbreaking or uniquely though provoking here, but more of a hodgepodge-crew-as-family gone on a long job, told in chapters of a more or less episodic nature. It's a bit like watchin...

When humans left a mostly destroyed earth ("When earth was all used up") humanity scattered to the stars. The Wayfarer is a ship that travels the stars and tunnels wormholes from various points. Into the mix comes Rosemary, a woman running from her past, or rather her family's past. She's never r...

Ich liebe ungewöhnliche Veröffentlichungsgeschichten. Becky Chambers Danksagung in ihrem Debütroman „The long way to a small, angry planet” zauberte mir deshalb ein entzücktes Lächeln ins Gesicht. Sie berichtet darin von der Kickstarter-Kampagne, ohne die sie ihr Buch nicht hätte veröffentlichen kön...

They say stupid things to each other and they ignore all their friends because they’re too busy staring, and they get jealous, and they have fights over dumb shit like who did the dishes last or why they can’t fold their fucking socks, and maybe the sex gets...
Evaine's Books, Books and More Books
Let me be clear from the get-go. I think many readers would rate this book with at least 4 stars, even 5, but quite honestly, I'm not the ideal reader for this book, so MY rating is a little lower. I just don't want people to miss a fun, well-written, diversely cast, thoughtful, filled with love b...

A very entertaining, light, character driven science-fiction novel. This book focuses on the misfit crew of The Wayfarer and their trip to a "small, angry planet". The world-building is interesting, but the characters could have used more development or growth. This book covers some social and sc...

A quick fun read that I enjoyed a lot. There was some action scenes throughout the book but where this book shined was character development. I really enjoyed the relationships between the crew and I am looking forward to reading more in this series.4 Stars for a fun read.
