Historical fiction was 'my genre' for more than ten years, and particularly books set during WWII were the ones that I gravitated towards most often. Sad, but excellent.
I wish I hadn't read this one immediately after The Storyteller. I loved that one so much that this one couldn't compare so close together.
I adored this book. It is the story of a young married couple separated by the events of World War 2. He escapes their native Prague. ending up in America; she chooses to stay behind with her family. The chaos of the time causes each of them to think the other dead, and they subsequently remarry....
