This was enjoyable. My first historical, paranormal M/M (I think). I liked that Stephen and Lucian were completely opposite (Stephen is short and squat, Lucian tall and lean). It will be interesting how their relationship develops- there was no declaration of love in this one. In addition, the socie...
The very fact I called one of my colleagues at work Stephen / and his name is nothing close to that/ just because I couldn't stop thinking of the book it's explanatory enough how much I love it . Thank you. K.J. Charles for not naming one of your main characters some name like Jabari or Aloysius, ca...
It was an easy an fun read. The plot was engaging and well executed. The main characters were interesting and like-able. There were some plot holes and flaws in logic here and there, but all in all it was entertaining and worth reading.
Lucien Vaudry, Lord Crane, has returned to England after a twenty year exile in China because he's inherited an earldom he never wanted. He's not at all sorry his father and brother are dead, his brother Hector was a particularly nasty character, and their father covered up all his grievous misdeeds...
Not a horror fan.4.5 stars. What got this book down to 3.5 stars for me (yep, I did round up in the end):SPOILER-ISH below this line!!!*************************************************************On top of horror element, there is this set-up that was orchestrated by some minor characters long long t...
The reason for it not having a higher rating is totally on my personal taste in romance heroes. Shallow as I am, Stephen wasn't quite it, though he did get a lot more alpha (and thus more appealing to me) late into the book. Well written, witty and plenty of steam. I recommend it.
Okay, I admit it, this has been a real case of ‘rather late to the party’ but, to stick to the clichés, also of ‘better late than never’. J I don’t have a good answer to the question why it took me so long to read this book except that I have an almost endless amount of highly recommended unread boo...

BR with Mel, Elena, Gaby, and Wandering Reader – Thursday, March 19th :)To say I have mixed feelings about this book would be an understatement. I'm not even sure how I want to rate it. Some readers loved The Magpie Lord, while others didn't like it all that much. I find myself somewhere in the midd...
3.5 stars The first of the story really dragged for me, but once it picked up, I enjoyed it. I just think that historical isn't my thing anymore. I might give book 2 a try because I love series.
