Very complex story with beautiful language. Something you definitely need to read several times to fully absorb.

I really liked the imagery in this one. I loved the use of color and opulence juxtaposed against disease and death, I loved the idea of a prince sequestering himself amid luxury and decadence while the poor die of a horrible pestilence in the streets. Reading, Writing and Being Generally Awesome
Read in preparation for Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin. Goodness was this creepy and genuinely frightened me! Definitely a great gothic horror, written by a genius!

When I first read this, I thought it was one of the coolest stories ever. I'd still put it in my top ten, I think.
