Enlightening
Read it for a college course on the history of Islamic civilization. Probably rather progressive for its time, even contains some nice bit on religious tolerance.
This is probably one of the better translations of the Qur'an available. It provides the reader with the subtle nuances of the original Arabic language without detracting from the overall English translation.
