What I liked most of this book that it all took place in one place. In most sci-fi or fantasy novels the heroes travel and travel and travel some more. This takes place in one castle (more or less). I loved the way the writer created a busy, crowded and brewing with tensity atmosphere in this place.
I read this in the late 80s, maybe early 1990. I remember this book becuause I read it even though I wasn't "supposed to" (parents had decreed it had too much sex, which meant of course, I had to read it). The magic system was pretty cool, and I liked the use of mirrors (I still remember most of it)...
