Ten years have passed since Kate and Cecy married Thomas and James, and England is now being transformed by the first railways. When James is asked to look into the sudden disappearance of a German railway engineer, he and Cecy make a shocking discovery: The railway lines are wreaking havoc with ancient underground magic, which could endanger the very unity of England. Written in letters between Kate and Cecy--and between their husbands--this installment of the cousins' adventures is another satisfying blend of magic, mystery, adventure, humor, and romance.

This book has a rather complicated plot line with a lot of different characters that were hard for me to keep straight. So many of the names were similar, and because they all talk...
Not the best in the Kate and Cecelia series. You get to see their children! What a handful they would be. Magical toddlers!
It was so interesting to read about the characters of this series 10 years after the fact especially when you add in their children. I found this book to be delightful but not my favorite of the series. It was back to the letters format and it included letters between James and Thomas, but it wasn't...
