The Missing Piece is another fantastic work by the author Shel Silverstein. This book is about a circle who was missing a piece, so he slowly rolled about the land looking for a piece to complete him. In this text, there is discussion of independence and belongingness. I would use this book in my cl...

I first came across this book years ago while I was scanning through the aisles of the then newly-opened PowerBooks store in Greenbelt Makati. I had not read a single children's book for quite some time as my interest in them had waned already, so it was quite a surprise for me to find my...

She Thought What?!?! Rants, Raves, and In-Betweens
The Missing Piece by Shel Silverstein was one of the first books I remember owning, and loving. It was a requirement for bed. I've had this book since 1983. It's a bit yellowed, the jacket is missing, and we've had to revalue the spine countless times. But ya know what that means, it's well loved!

Dreck. Tragic that the mind which brought us such classic songs as "Polly In A Porny With A Pony" and "You're Always Welcome At Our House" and books like Different Dances should have come to this.

I don't know, Silverstein just seems so heavy-handed to me. It's a missing piece get it?

A brilliant, edge-of-your-seat masterpiece! Dynamic character development and a knock-your-socks-off climatic twist! I couldn't get enough of The Missing Piece when I was eight years old! However, that Shel Silverstein is a one creepy looking dude. There's a certain sort of child molester-esque look...
