I have tried to finish this book during the day today and read any time that I was able to, but the book is not only utterly crap it also bloody endless. It drags, and drags, and drags. The last 30% of the book just felt like the story of who did what changed on every page and I completely lost track...

I received this at the Malice Domestic celebration of Agatha Christie. I have to admit the plot was good (although preposterous) and the book relatively readable. I agree that the sentence construction did not mirror Agatha Christie's style and it would be hard to replicate her great plots. However, it was a good cozy mystery on its own merits so I gave it four stars. It was a hundred percent better than some of Agatha's misses like the Big Four.

I was quite wrong when I thought I understood the plot when I was almost halfway. At that stage my ideas were in lin...

Did I like the book? No, I didn't. But it's Not too bad at all! It's just that I expected something different about it. I had the idea that Sophie Hannah would put a different spin on the Christie' s work, rather than fitting into it. It started off so well but then it became a very hard read and ...

Re-incarnations of detectives in hands of a different author seldom succeeds, except in the case of Holmes, but that was possible maybe because the reincarnator was Sir Doyle himself. But, apart from that exception re-incarnations are meant to be not as successful as the original. The stories of lim...
