Book: The Moving Finger Author: Agatha Christie Genre: Mystery/Fiction Summary: Lymstock is a town with more than its share of shameful secrets - a town where even a sudden outbreak of anonymous hate mail causes only a minor stir. But all that changes when one of the recipients, Mrs. Symmingto...

I read the original bundle for this book back in 2017, so I decided to do re-reads, with stand alone reviews. Can't lie, this book still irks my heart. I read this one second since I knew it was shorter than "The Body in the Library" and that one holds a special place in my heart. "The Moving Fing...

The small town of Lymstock gets terrorized by a person, who sends out poison pen letters to the inhabitants of the village. At first the villagers consider the letters to be of no importance, but this changes when one of the recipients of the letters dies. I neither loved The Moving Finger nor did...

This is listed as a Ms. Marple story, but she plays a minimal role and doesn't even appear until the last 30 pages. I really enjoyed the narrator, Jerry Burton. This one is my favorite in this series so far, but I'll likely say that about the next one as well. I'm a little disappointed that this one sticks to one person's POV, Jerry Burton in this case. It's a little odd that we, the readers, never learn what the letters say, but enough is said that we ca...

The small village of Lymstock is being plagued by poison pen letters but when it drives one poor woman to suicide Miss Marple is called in to help. Deftly plotted with a nice romance this ranks up there with The Murder of Roger Ackroyd as my favorite by the author.
