What a surprise! I figured this would be a decent three star book; worth reading but nothing really memorable. I was even prepared to sigh at the idea of badly behaving children giving their governess trouble. Nope, this is not that book. This is the book where a girl with her own mysterious past ...

Such a nice blend of light and clever, thoughtful and fun. It was both a bit more and a bit less than what I was expecting. It is a pretty quick little read and there isn't a great deal in terms of narrative tension, but that really doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The characters, the setting,...

As far as children's books about no-nonsense British nannies and their raised-by-wolves charges go, this one was pretty enjoyable. Cleverly written and quite funny in places, though as many other reviewers said, not many answers by the end of the story. If you don't like to be left hanging, and yo...

A funny sweet book that is a first in a series which I look forward to continuing.

The children are like Tarzan, only that instead of being raised by apes, it is by wolves. The drawings and the setting is a bit Gothic, and there are some amusing facts by the author. I downloaded this audio for free courtesy of YA Sync’s Summer Program. I really wouldn’t have come across it otherwise, since these books are in the juvenile section of the library. A section that I don’t frequent unless I’m looking for something in particular, because I’m ashamed to admit that I co...

What a mean, mean cliffhanger, but such a treat. I am not sure about the target group, though. Maybe a review will follow, maybe not.

Written in the Lemony Snicket vein, and quite enjoyable. I wonder, do kids enjoy these books as much as the adults who read them?

Delightful setup for an interesting series. I am pleased, though, that I didn't read it and then have to wait a year for the next one. I love the children and Lumawoo!3.8

Lemony Snicket humor. Cute and fun to read. Penelope Lumley is a governess for three children seemingly raised by wolves. The children have many misadventures whilst Penelope tries to teach them manners and how to not ruin dinner parties with their shenanigans.
