And Dee Henderson (and this series) was one of my absolute favorites. When I recently noticed it on the Amazon Kindle freebie...
The first book in the O'Malley series. I read... no, I devoured the prequel while in London, and fortunately Mum owns more of the series, so I'm slowly working my way through them. They're really very good. Christian without (IMHO at least) being preachy.
