I have to hold firm with myself to leave 'The New York Trilogy' at 3 stars, because overall I liked it, I finished it quick enough, but the more I think about it, the more I believe it was a waste of time.I read the trilogy together, launching into the 'Ghosts' as soon as 'City of Glass' ended, etc....
DNF.It isn't bad, it's well written and possibly it could be good. It just isn't capturing me and I don't feel as if I'd be missing out on anything special if I didn't pick it up again. Typical "literary" fare.

A classic metaphysical mystery novel. I think the main idea is that too much time completely alone leads to too much introspection and eventually madness. I would have loved to study this at university.
I understand the man earns his acclaim and maybe it's just my general distaste for NY that comes with being from NJ but I didn't care much for these stories.
