Full disclosure: the author is a neighbor and friend, and former teacher of the eldest.Oh, but I loved this. The idea of taking American folklore as indicative of real heroes, super-heroes I guess, is genius. Remember, I loved Anne Ursu's The Shadow Thieves, The Siren Song, and The Immortal Fire....
