This was like a book about a book. The description is accurate in that it is a mix of The Old Man and the Sea and The Road, only it not nearly as good as either of those.
This was a 99 cent buy off of Amazon, and it had a lot of positive reviews. It had an interesting portrayal of a post-apocalyptic world and made references to Hemmingway's Old Man and the Sea (which I haven't actually read). This is a quick read, and worth your time, even if it is a tad derivative. Marred only slightly by some line level editing issues, this self published short novel was a very enjoyable read. Hemingway's classic is both a frame around and a character in this book, set with parts of the post apocalyptic bleakness of The Road and hints of the humor of Fallout. Recommended.
