Classic dog tale of 101 Dalmatians which was used as the basis for the Disney movie of the same name. I enjoyed the story although the movie does change some of it. I liked the history of the DeVil family and Cruella's eccentricities. I thought the barking times and network were great. It is fun for...

This book led to one of my first experiences with movies changing things. I remember being outraged that Missis' name was changed to make her Perdita in the movie. But that's the way it goes. This is a lovely and enjoyable story with a memorable and well-drawn villain. Entertaining.

Review on my blogAs good as the Disney film is, it is definitely not a patch (unintentional pun there) on the original book, although they are nothing like each other anyways. Fun read, even though it occasionally smacks of sexism.

I love the movie, but I love parts of the book too, especially the stuff that didn't make it into the movie, like the real Perdita and her husband, the church the puppies visit, the two Nannies, and the boy with the little blue cart. The only thin...

It's a nice little story for children but feels a little dated now. I didn't know Dodie Smith wrote 101 Dalmatians until I read I Capture the Castle - which I loved. It's quite a bit below my reading level, even though I do enjoy reading many children's books. What I liked about it though was that it...

Today is the first day of school, so we were only able to read for a short time last night. Just enough to learn of the wedding of Pongo and Missis Pongo and the happy news due in a month or so.Even though I've read the book, it's hard to separate it out in my mind from the movie, which the Offspri...
