I am not sure if the romance blooms slowly, to me the story had a certain flow and then at some point it made a very sharp turn which I totally didn't see coming... My opinion about Jonah changed dramatically and I think I began understanding his reasons.I liked Reid / of course/ as well as the side...

5/5 This was a beautifully realized and romantic story. The backdrop of turn of the century New York, the details of everyday life, the way Jonah and Reid danced around each other and then finally got together. I liked the language, some of the slow pace and the characters. The setting was carefully done. I ended up liking this book a lot, but it took a while to get into it. It moved too slow in the beginning and Jonah was weak and not very impressive for a long time. The ending was exciting and the characters and the relationship were great.

Was free on 28th July 2012 on Amazon.co.ukSweet well-written m/m romance set in an 1880s New York bank. Sex is not explicit in this novel. He wanted to wrap his arms around Reid, close his eyes, and forget the world altogether.

Just about every review of this book mentions the slowness of the story, so I went in anticipating that. And I'm not usually put off by slow stories--as long as I feel like the reasons for the slowness are worth it. I'm not sure I do with this one. It seems like one of the reasons for the slownes...
