Read this years ago. I was very excited to find this book initially, and I loved Leroux's book and of course Webber's play. In the preface it says that Forsyth is a friend of Webber so I was optimistic about liking it. WRONG. This book is total crap and will be a sore disappointment for Leroux fans....
beautiful, haunting and romantic! must have for Phantom of the Opera fans.
Honestly, I think Frederick Forsyth should be ashamed of himself for writing such absolute tripe. He clearly is unfamiliar with Leroux's original novel and casts Erik in a humiliating light that the original character would never countenance. To be avoided at all costs.
