Jennifer Ashley writes beautiful historical romances and when I found out she blended her historical with pirates, I was so interested! I enjoyed her characters and I loved how Alexandra comes rushing to save her pirate next door, Captain Finley. The plot was a bit slow at times and when the couple...
I enjoyed this one. It was pretty fast-paced but not so much that it was confusing. I don't recall much in the way of things that cause eye-rolling, so that is good. After finishing this book, it occurred to me that I have quite a few pirate romances. I can't figure out why I am so drawn to them kno...
3 starsI picked this because I needed pirate romance. It has been a while since my last read on Scandalous Desires.Romance between former-pirate-now-viscount Grayson Finley or Lord Stoke and Mrs. Alexandra Alistair, a widow was pretty quick. She was his next door neighbor and he instantly fell in lo...
I started this thinking it was a novella, but found a full fledged Regency romance. The plotting is definite over-the-top melodrama (I'm still trying to untangle these pirates' relationships), but I enjoyed the characters immensely.
Okay, this gets 4.5 stars. In honor of this book being 99 cents today (9/19/2012) and since I still remember how much I enjoyed reading it, I'm reposting my 2003 review from AAR. I was a brand new baby reviewer fresh out of school when I wrote this:If you haven't tried any of this author's books ye...
Entertaining read with lots of twists. Some bad guys that aren't bad guys, some good guys that aren't good guys, some folks with questionable loyalty, numerious proposals some respectful some not, ships, kidnapping, hijinks, convoluted history and I think that is it. I spent half the time laughing...
Regency, pirates and a mystery of who kidnapped the french king. Alexandra lives the life of a widow, might be a bit dull but now a viscount rumored to have been a pirate moves in next door. After rescuing him from an ambush and a hanging she´s drawn into a conspiracy and threats to her life. Not th...
I read this book as part of a reading challenge. Until then it had lingered at the bottom of my TBR pile. I liked the characters, even the villains. I liked that the story remained in the presence, despite that all that unfolded had roots in the past. The explanations were kept to the minimum needed...
