Steeped in Science, Submersed in Story
Like the previous two books in this series, this story takes place in a wonderfully rendered Barcelona. The characters, principally Fermin, are loveable without being cute. This book focuses on Fermin's story and gets his present reconciled with his past, more or less. The down side is that this ...

The third in one of the best series of novels I've ever read. When you finish a book and immediately want to go back and read them all again, that's the sign of a good book.

This is my second Zafon book in as many months, and I have found a new voice I love. I know little about the Spanish war of the last century, so the setting of his novels is new to me. In The Prisoner of Heaven, Zafon continues to educate me about the conflict's atrocities while furthering the story...

The Prisoner of Heaven is the third book in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I really enjoyed Shadow of the Wind and The Angel's Game. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend reading this book until you have read the first two books. Prisoner of Heaven really ties the first two...

I loved Shadow of the Wind and The Angel's Game, so I was all the more disappointed by this short, uneven book. Its main purpose seemed to be to explain away some of the mystery behind the other two books, which strikes me as a bad idea--it's not only a bit boring to explain so much, but it takes so...

I read this straight -- got back from work, had a break to eat dinner and I finished in the wee hours of the morning. It was that good - a mystery of one mans true identity. A book to gobble up in one go. Review to follow!

Yet another quick interruption from the 2 other books I'm reading - the old one and the long one. I was in desperate need of some thrill and mystery and The Prisoner served its purpose right. Two things about it. The bad one. I read the first two books of the trilogy about six and three years ago, s...

Quite enjoyable. Now I may have to go back and read The Angel's Game (which I haven't read yet). Also wondering if the next book will be the last & final chapter...?It has been quite a few years since I read The Shadow of the Wind. Yet, when reading The Prisoner of Heaven, I felt a pretty strong sen...

(English review below)Selvom "Himlens fange" er tredje bog i serien om de glemte bøgers kirkegård kan man sagtens læse den uden at have kendskab til de to første bøger i serien. Den følger op på nogle af hændelserne fra især "Vindens skygge", på en sådan måde at det vil tilfredsstille læsere af Zafó...

While I was reading this, my acquaintance saw me carrying it: "OOOOOhhh! A new Carlos Zafon book?!?!? When did it come out?!?!?! But... it's so TINY!"OK, it's not really all that tiny, at 279 pages. But it is significantly shorter that either of the previous 'Cemetery of Forgotten Books' stories. It...
