I don't know what I was expecting but I loved this book. It was paced really well and just got better as I got deeper into the story. I will admit there were times when Ayers caustic comments made my chest tighten in sympathetic pain for King but their dynamic was enthralling.
I have to give a disclaimer here: I worked with the author as acquisition editor on this book. I worked with her before it went to any other editors so I had no idea what the final version would look like and I just finished my first read of the full novel.
