Wow. This was a really good book. We get a team-up of Haller and Bosch. Haller doing his own moves in this one that leaves you wondering who the good guys are. And the ending with Bosch determined to find out the truth. Haller is called upon by the DA's office to prosecute a retrial of a man who w...
Longtime defense attorney Mickey Haller is recruited to change stripes and prosecute the high-profile retrial of a brutal child murder. After 24 years in prison, convicted killer Jason Jessup has been exonerated by new DNA evidence. Haller is convinced Jessup is guilty, and he takes the case on the ...
Whew - my heart is still racing from this book. The character interactions between Haller, Bosch and McPherson are fantastic, the court case is intriguing, and the legal wrangling is clever and fast-paced. I literally couldn't put this one down! I've read the Bosch and Haller series totally out o...
This is an excellent airplane or beach book. You don't need to be familiar with the characters but for me it was fun to catch up on their lives as I haven't read Connelly for a few years.
Really interesting to see Mickey Haller on the other side of the aisle. And the suspense in this one kept me on the edge of my seat - it was really hard to put this one down.
Perhaps the best of the Mickey Haller books. Sharing the limelight is the lead character for another Connelly series, Harry Bosch. Bosch is the vehicle for much of the action and crime detection, while Haller runs rings around the rule of law and jurisprudence. As usual Connelly puts together a d...
A couple of years ago I recall having a dry spell of books and particularly authors I wanted to read. Then I belatedly found Robert B. Parker and John Sandford. I was content because I enjoyed their writing so much and the stories were great. Last year I happened upon Michael Connelly and although...
I read this back to back with Lost Light. Maybe it was too much in a row and this book suffered as a consequence. They both get 3 stars, but I put this towards 2 and the other towards 4. I didn't really like the technique of first person Haller and the third person Bosch. It seemed pointless and irr...
The Reversal by Michael Connelly is another in a series of terrific pieces of contemporary crime fiction by this author. The Reversal gives us the bonus of two fascinating main characters. One of them is the police investigator Harry Bosch, and the other is defense attorney-turned-prosecutor (for t...
Took me a bit to get through this although I have taken into consideration i wasnt reading 1 book but 3. The Lincoln Lawyer, The Brass Verdict and finally The Reversal. I am a fan of court trial themed films but had never actually read any books on the subject. Well I glad that author Michael Connel...
