This book is soo good! Filled with amazing colourful illustrations and wonderful prose. The characters are adorable and the interactions with one another brought smiles to my face a few times. Loved it and will begin recommending it to everyone else that I think would enjoy it. I'm definitely going ...

What I liked most about this book, aside from the amazing world-building and gorgeous illustrations, was Eva Nine's characterization. She's portrayed as an 11-to-12-year-old girl (confused; I rememeber reading 12, but the Web site says 11?) and she actually acts like it; she gets scared, was initial...

The disadvantage of being an adult who loves children's literature is that I perhaps analyze things too much.  In searching for a defence, I remember all those books I read several times as a child and then re-read as an adult, only to find new layers for the more experienced reader.Because I'm now ...

Wow what a wonderful lovely book this was. I never expected it to be like this. The illustrations are beautiful and help with the story. :)In the end I even cried a bit, so much sadness and also happiness.I will be sure to buy book 2!

Beautiful book. I hope one day to read this to my son as an introduction to science fiction. Looking forward to the next one.

I would have liked more consistency throughout this story. I think the concept is wonderful, though perhaps a bit reminiscent of "Planet of the Apes", and the environment is imaginative and fun. It would be a fantastic romp for 8-13 year-olds.Personally, however, I was disappointed by the shifting n...

The Search for Wondla was a trip down memory lane because it was reminiscent of movies such as "Dark Crystal", "Neverending Story" and "Labyrinth" that are packed with magical charm. Reading the bio on the Author, Tony DiTerlizzi, I found out his inspiration includes Jim Henson which explains so muc...

2.5 starsLengthy. 150 pages or more could have easily been cut out.Eva discovers world after having been kept underground and with only a robot for company all her life. She explores, makes friends, sets up the groundwork for #2. Okay, but again, really long. Creative, imaginative illustrations whic...

Boring. Too eco friendly. Mindless desert wandering. Plot bunnies ate the "plot" of this book's cabbage. Weak characters. No humor. Blah.

Last night's trip I tried to collect things that would make for good read-alouds. We've been on hiatus since A Christmas Carol, but apparently the kids think it is time to resume. I missed it too.Eva does something astoundingly dumb and then she encounters an oracle. I'm tired of prophecies, too tir...
