Frothy & predictable. Mindless, easy, & frivolous enough as a beach or pool read if you're looking for that sort of thing. I guess it's considered historical romance. It's pretty lightweight as a historical fiction piece; not sure how it measures up as a romantic piece as I rarely read romances.
