I read this book a long time ago, but I still remember the Hessian Cat and the carnivorous fanged rabbit of Hesse.
This is the first book by Jo Beverley that I actually enjoyed. The story and the main characters are delightful. There are a couple of situations where the suspension of disbelief almost didn't work, but I got through them. Loved the depiction and historical details of the Georgian period too.
This is more like a 2.5. I liked the characters well enough, but I think that the deception and the need to protect themselves for so long kind of dragged on, even when they knew they were in love.
