I like the Joe Pike series and this is a good addition. Joe falls for a girl who is on the run. Turns out she isn't what she seems...imagine that. Joe has put himself at her service and the lady in question calls on Joe to save her. I found the account of gangs in LA instructive and many of the char...

Been loving the series of Elvis Cole and his quiet buddy/friend/business partner, Joe Pike. It started with Elvis as the headliner and Joe his co-star but this is the third series of Joe as star and Elvis as co-star although Elvis' role in this last book is more predominent than in others. While E...

Although I have not read this series in order, I'm absolutely loving it. If you like fast-paced crime fiction, this is for you.

I really don't know of a more readable author than Robert Crais. Even though I had a few quibbles with some of the plotting I could not turn the pages fast enough.

Another great read from one of my favorite writers. A visit with Joe Pike & Elvis Cole is NEVER boring, and this one didn't disappoint!

First I must say I won this on First Reads. That out of the way...Another winner for Robert Crais.I must say, though, I did not enjoy this book as much as his last book, The First Rule, which for all purposes, I read in one day because I could not put it down. As a result of that, this book had big ...

While stopping to air up a tire, Joe Pike sees two men beating up a restaurant owner. Pike intervenes, falls for the owner's niece, and gets himself and Elvis Cole entangled in an FBI investigation involving a street gang and stolen drug money. Only everything Pike and Cole think they know is wron...
