Calling it quits at 200 pages. Not for me. I made it 200 pages but I'm just not connecting with the main character and not that interested in the plot, I'm finding it very boring and repetitive. DNFing.

Marie Rutkoski became one of my favorite authors and her The Winner's Trilogy one of my favorite series and she seems to never disappoint me. This book is her early work and being a standalone it made me thrilled and terrified.I didn't know what to expect so, without much knowing I got right into it...

I read this over the weekend. I'm not sure what I think about it. I will attempt to write a review. It wasn't bad. I'm not sure if it was good. It was mostly meh. However, I think that might be a me problem, I'm not really sure. Meh.

3.5 stars. The Shadow Society was much better than I expected. The plot and idea behind the book reminded me a lot of [b:The Gathering Dark|11040554|The Gathering Dark|Christine Johnson|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1340051843s/11040554.jpg|15961061] and [b:Unraveling|12157365|Unraveling (Unravelin...

Full review can be found on Delirious About BooksAnother dystopian with a very intriguing and, I'm happy to say, unique premise of alternate dimensions. I find alternate dimensions to be such an interesting subject and even though it didn't go into great detail concerning the alternate Chicago, it w...

However then you find out she’s adopted, has moved from one foster family to another, and also that some crazy, weird things have been happening to her. Then she meets the g...

The Shadow Society introduces us to a 16 year old girl named Darcy Jones. Having lived most of her life in and out of different foster homes, she doesn’t really feel like she belongs anywhere. She doesn’t remember anything about her past, which I can imagine is very frustrating. We follow along with...

Darcy Jones does not remember anything prior to the day she was abandoned at a Chicago Firehouse. She has been relegated to the foster care system and has jumped families, houses and schools since then. Darcy was a very easy narrator to get to know and listen to. Even though she has had a rough go o...

These days every time I go to pick up another Paranormal Romance I know I'll end up with some form of vampire, werewolf, zombie or ghost. And while there is nothing wrong any of those types of characters, it tends to get a little "tell me something I don't know, would ya?" I wanted something differe...
