"This summer's Gone Girl – I gobbled it down in one sitting." – Anne Lamott, People Jodi and Todd are at a bad place in their marriage. Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. He is a committed cheater. She lives and breathes denial. He exists in dual worlds. She likes to settle scores. He decides to play for keeps. She has nothing left to lose. Told in alternating voices, The Silent Wife is about a marriage in the throes of dissolution, a couple headed for catastrophe, concessions that can’t be made, and promises that won’t be kept. Expertly plotted and reminiscent of Gone Girl and These Things Hidden, The Silent Wife ensnares the reader from page one and does not let go.

1.0 First Part Setting the Two Main Characters Was Great, Rest of Book Didn't Work
Well not too much to say about this one besides it was ultimately a disappointment. I thought I was going to get into a psychological thriller about tihe ins and outs of a marriage. I think in the end I didn't like this book because I didn't have sympathy for "the silent wife" or Jodi. She just pass...

Jodi is going to kill her cheating husband, Todd. No spoilers that’s in the first few pages, what follows is a slow burning dual perspective book. The two main characters were believable and intoxicatingly toxic. This book is dark and twisted and while it’s a slow burn it didn’t feel like it was dra...

I plowed through this slow-burning domestic drama today. You're told from the first few pages (and the back cover) that the prim wife who narrates half the book will soon murder the philandering husband who narrates the other half. Told in perspective-alternating chapters, we're left waiting and won...

They were just psycho...narcissists.The climax and the ending were very flat. Don't waste your time.

I listened to the audiobook and I actually fell asleep listening to it. To be fair, I think I lost interest because of the narration, not because of the writing. This is one of those books that I'm going to have to come back to.
