Sonny is in jail and being framed for another crime that he didn't commit. His role is the confessor of the prisoners and he didn't speak and would give blessing. But then he break out of prison. He seems to have a plan. A third way through the book and I still don't know what the plan is. The...

Sonny Lofthus is in prison, listening in silence to the confessions of his prisonmates who are convinced he can grant them forgiveness for their sins. But one of them confesses something a little too close to Sonny's heart and all of sudden Sonny needs to get out; get out of prison, get out of a fal...

I like Jo Nesbo. I've been reading his series so was excited to hear about the stand alone story. But in the depths of great descriptions and a succinct plot, I didn't love the lack of character development...and there were a lot of characters. If it wasn't a borrowed book, I'd re-read it.

Mysteries are waltzes, when they're good. And Nesbo spins and dips even without his fictional partner, Harry Hole. This novel is fantastic! Complex without being mind boggling.

http://www.b00kr3vi3ws.in/2014/05/TheSon.htmlI am a fan of Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole Series and had picked this one up under the initial assumption that this is the latest in the series. However reading the blurb and starting with the book makes it very clear that this is a standalone novel from Nesbo a...
