In my last review I mentioned how I’m not much of a romantic and I tend to get bored with romance-driven plots. And then this book rocked up and was all, “I’m gonna make you a liar, bitch.” And then it did. And I’m okay with that. You guys. I loved this soooooo much! It’s everything I love about m...
Okay, so I am not reviewing this blasted book. I will tell you exactly the problem with it shortly and concisely. All the bad things could have been avoided from the beginning if Amar had simply told his lovie love "Yo, we used to be married and madly in love. I'm the ruler of death basically, and y...
~*Full review notes on The Bent Bookworm!*~“I am a frightened girl, a roaring river and night incarnate….And I will not be tethered. My life belongs to me.”Feels:Reading The Star-Touched Queen was like falling headfirst into a swirling vortex of color, light, and strange beasts. It was beautiful, f...
An amazing read , I was completely lost in the story. Magic , Fantasy, Indian mythology. The story follows Maya, a 17 years old Princess with a terrible horoscope that promises a marriage of death and destruction. She was despised and blamed for any ill luck Happening in her father's kingdom, and ...
I love stories about Otherworld. I enjoyed this, but I never really connected to the characters the way I usually do. Worlds crossing, the realm of Death, love and betrayal. All the good bones of a wonderful tale. A good beach read for the summer.
Not for me. Beautifully written with some of the most unique mythology and magic I've ever seen, but I'm finding the plot somewhere between way too slow and practically non existent. May try again at another time but DNFing at the moment.
Okay ya'll, it takes a lot to make me gush about a book. The last time I was this excited about a book was when I read "Cinder" for the first time. "The Star-Touched Queen" had some pacing problems here and there, but not enough for me to rate it below 5 stars. The book begins with 16 year old Princ...
Star Touched Queen Roshani Chokski 3 Stars Kindle e-Book: Netgalley I don't even know what to say about this book. Honestly.I really liked the beginning. It had this Aladdin/Beauty and the Beast thing going and I was feeling it. Amar and Maya were getting used to each other and it was really ...
I don’t know what to think of this honestly. This book held so much promise but failed in delivering those promises. I wanted to like it but I didn’t. However, I didn’t hate it either. What I did like: the worldbuilding. The rich Indian mythology. The prose*. The talking horse. What I didn't like: The...
[I received an ARC of this novel through NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.]A story reminiscent of several “seeking one's beloved in another world” tales and myths, with an Indian twist and the including of reincarnation. This led to an interesting shift in balance, as both main characters...
