As a child, I had fallen in love with the musical 'Doctor Dolittle', starring Rex Harrison. It wasn't until much, much later that I found out that it was an amalgamation of three books in the series. I'm going to give a review of my 1988 version of this book. I loved it as I read it to my children. They loved it. It is a classical story about a man who loves animals and can communicate with them. Something a lot of people believe they can do now, but Doctor Dolittle did it best.
