While the other bulls like to kick and butt heads, Ferdinand would rather lay in the shade and sniff the flowers. At the end of the story, Ferdinand realizes that he is happy with who he is...

Ferdinand would be an awesome book to read in a kindergarten classroom. The bull only wants to be himself even if that means he's not like the other bulls. It teaches the life lesson that meekness can be a strength.

I think Ama really liked this book. The copy in her collection is from 1968. She and Grandpa gave it to my dad and aunts and uncle for Christmas, and Ama gave me the anniversary edition two Christmases ago. Definitely a classic tale.

Perhaps it is the red and white cover or perhaps it is the bull on the cover nevertheless this is the first time I have read this book and it is a book from the 1930’s. Amazing since I have kids that are in their 20’s and 30’s and I have never read this to ...

Playfully illustrated, humorously told, a wise tale for all of us. I remember one of my elementary teachers reading this book aloud in school more than 50 years ago -- that's how good it is. All young children should get to know Ferdinand.
