The Reading Perusals of Rose Summers
Quick review for a quick read. I'll admit that Deb Caletti seems to draw me into her stories because her characters always feel very vivid and draw me in whenever I pick up a book by her. "The Story of Us" was a good read, if a bit convoluted in terms of the narration. In parts it worked, in others ...

I love me a good love story. But this story I felt hard to connect too. I couldn’t quite grasp Cricket or her way of thinking. Plot: This is about a girl named Cricket who is trying to figure out what love is. She is unsure what love is or unsure if she could love someone. Being hurt in her past, ...

I give this more of a 2.5 rating. There was so much happening, but so little actually happened. I don't even know if I want to take the time to review this!

*Publisher Provided a free copy in exchange for an honest review*Mhmm....I liked Jupiter most. Cricket was so confused.....I felt bad for Janssen. This is a really good book about growing up after high school AND - what I liked the most - it is a fantastic DOG story. You don't see many dog books for teens, and I love love loved little Jupiter. I wish I'd had this book to read when I was 18/19/20.

So you have Cricket emailing Jenssen. She keeps apologizing to him, but doesn't come right out and say what she's apologizing for. In every email she sends a list that involves dogs. She owns a dog named Jupiter and that weaves in through out the book. [spoiler] Anyone smart enough would know that no...

My feelings about Deb Caletti's newest offering, The Story of Us, are divided. On one hand, I really enjoyed the story as I read it... and related to it on a very personal level, having done something very similar to Cricket a year or two ago. On the other hand, there are aspects of this novel that ...

This was one novel I was unable to finish. That's not to say it was terrible, it just didn't interest me. I found it to be fairly boring and much more of an introspective story than having a solid plot. I read roughly the first 100 pages and then gave up and skipped to the end to see if that would e...
