It would not be fair to rate this book. I stopped listening as soon as a small animal was purposely crushed by a jerk. Yes a small part of the story but one that bothered me enough for me to stop listening.

So, I probably shouldn’t have started this book when my husband was out of town. My comfy hundred and something-year-old house seems especially creaky and scary when I am alone in my room late at night reading a gruesome book about shape shifters, secret societies, and murder. Add to that the astoni...

[This book was provided to me in all its white, shining POD glory by the publisher, Headline, in return for nothing more than the warm fuzzy feeling that act of generosity gave them. They were able to do this thanks to Bookbridgr, not because they've been stalking me. That I know of.] I've been ke...

The String Diaries opens with a bang, and the intensity never diminishes as the story progresses. Considering this book is written in a way that spans over 100 years, covers written history from a number of different people and flits around between the 1800s and now quite quickly, you'd be forgiven for thinking it could be difficult to get into. It was, thankfully, quite easy to get drawn into a...

In a frantic attempt to save his life, she invites in a complete stranger to clean and close the wounds. Shortly after she settles down, Hannah notices an all too familiar mark on the stranger’...

A jumble of entries, written in different hands, different languages, and different times. They tell of a rumour. A shadow. A killer. The only interest that Oxford Professor Charles Meredith has in the diaries is as a record of Hungarian folklore ... until he comes face to face with a myth. For Hannah...
