Super corny, but mostly lighthearted and sweet. Gets a little dark at the climax and wraps up with a tearjerker.

I almost gave up on this book. It's pace was slow and heavy with characters thoughts, insecurities and speculation. The heroine's secret was rather predictable. Interaction with her son is why I finished but I skimmed a lot. Rock star Cain is attracted to Maggie the maid.

I picked this book up because I have the second in the series (The Christmas He Loved Her) for review and wanted to read them in order - I can't help it. I must read in order! So, even though I've been on a holiday romance reading kick lately I switched gears entirely and hit summer in Michigan. T...

Maggie O'RourkeCain Black Michael O'Rourke, Raine Edwards, Jake Edwards, Mackenzie "Mac" DraperA very good start to a new series. Caught in a FAB Romance (@TheLoveJunkee)
PJV Quickie: The Summer He Came Home was a sweet, if predictable, contemporary romance that had some lovely scenes between the hero and heroine and her son; add to that some emotional scenes between secondary characters and this reader is ready for the next book in this new series. Review Cain Bla...

Enjoyed this one very much, well developed characters. I have a thing for rock stars who have been around the block a time or two. I'll be reviewing at the USA Today HEA Blog.

It is a book you can snuggle up with on a blustery winter's day and forget about life for a little while, and sometimes that is all you need. There was a lot to like abo...

****Posted as a guest review over at paranormalhaven.com**** I’ve been reading a lot more contemporary romance as of late, and I picked up The Summer He Came Home because it looked like it would be a nice, sweet read. And generally, it was. You have a struggling single mom, the bad boy rock star, an...

Sexy bad boy rocker meets hardworking single mum. What is there not to like?Cain was not the bad boy everything thinks he is, ok somewhat, but mostly he is kind, loves his friends and is also a hurt cos of what his ex did. I had to like him at once. Then there is Maggie, she works as a cleaning lady,...
