Hmmm… I came across an article that mentioned the magic in this series was actually a metaphor for girls coming into their own powers. Whether the author intended it to be taken that way or not, I found the book less random when I read with that in mind. Although, whenever the thought slipped my min...

Well, I finished this series. This book seemed long and an arduous at times, especial in around the middle. I had to remind myself of the age of the characters multiple times through the book because their priorities were so self focused even after everything that happened in the last book. I did li...

It seems that this trilogy just got better and better with each book. I was thoroughly impressed with this trilogy, but particularly this book. The story got more intense. I couldn’t get enough of this book. I’m very sad it’s over. Gemma’s debut is nearing, but her biggest responsibility is the po...

A decent, satisfying, if overly long-winded conclusion to a well-crafted series. I can't say I enjoyed all 819 pages of this -- 200 pages could stand to be excised for a more streamlined novel - but it was worth reading.

This book.. wow this book. hahaOverall the series wasn't AMAZING to me, I really enjoyed the time period and the gothic feel, but I was never really in love with the series. With that said, this book is a great book, especially the ending. After 800 and something pages I felt very attached to the ch...

This book, being the conclusion of the trilogy, was arguably the most dramatic of the three. Each book had its emotional ups and downs, but there's an added element of urgency and confusion mixed in throughout the third, making it a highly emotional read from start to finish. I'd just finished the...

To be completely honest, this book was just okay for me. At the end of Rebel Angels, I thought to myself, "There can't possible be enough left of this story to tell that it needs 800 pages!" And really, this book could have been shortened to 500-ish pages if you take out some unnecessary things. F...

This is the last book of the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. It is the longest of the three and it happens to be the weakest. I found myself constantly annoyed with Gemma throughout this book. She makes so many choices that are so obviously wrong I couldn't help but groan. I kept trying to remind myself tha...
